Amid rising security concerns, the Meta-occupied platform WhatsApp developed a new screen lock feature specifically for desktop users. In a recent announcement, WABetaInfo revealed that WhatsApp is coming up with a screen lock feature that will add an extra layer of security to the WhatsApp account for desktop users. It helps in securing the privacy of conversations and messages, but it is only available to WhatsApp web users.
“WhatsApp Web is locked thanks to the screen lock feature, and it asks for a password to view the list of your conversations. To discover if this feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account, just open WhatsApp Settings > Privacy. In case the feature is available to your account, you should see a screen lock entry point here. When enabled, you will have to enter a password to unlock WhatsApp Web,” stated by WABetaInfo in an announcement.
This newly released feature will ensure that no one can access your WhatsApp chats and messages. Even if they have access to your computer or laptop, they must enter a password to view your WhatsApp chats and messages. The same report also states that if the user forgets the password, they must log out and log in to their WhatsApp account by scanning the QR code.
