Snapchat to Strengthen Security for Protecting the Teens: Snapchat is one of the most used apps by teenagers globally, but at the same time, it is hampering the safety of teenagers. Regarding the same, Snap recently gave a statement to safeguard teens in the age group of 13-17 years.
Snapchat is one of the most prominent social media platforms that needs to upgrade its security measures and finally, it shared its opinion, stating the platform will enhance communication and search features as well as security but at the same time, it will ensure that teenage-friendly content is displayed.
Uthara Ganesh Snap Head of Public Policy-South Asia said “We are committed to making sure Snapchat is a place where you can be creative and stay safe and above all, the safety and well-being of our community in India, which includes over 200 million users, is our top priority.”
If we look at the stats, GenZ or Millennials are the highest number of Snapchat users for security. Uthara Ganesh also said, “Our latest features are thoughtful in-app features that are designed to empower teens to make smarter choices and talk openly about staying safe online.”

Account Withdrawal Displaying Inappropriate Content
The new strike system of Snapchat targets accounts promoting age-inappropriate content. The content of the speculated IDs will be removed. Further, the account will be removed if attempt to evade the restrictions.
Age-Appropriate Content Viewing
Another great feature inculcation done by Snapchat is promoting the appropriate content viewing experience for all teen users.
Warnings
An in-app feature that will send pop-up notifications (in the form of a warning) to the teens who are being sent friend requests by someone, especially if that someone doesn’t have any mutual friends with you.
