Search for a Song on YouTube : You heard a song in the cafe, metro, or in an advertisement but were unable to recognize the song’s name; we all have been there at some point. This situation can be really frustrating, but to get you out of this, YouTube has a new feature that allows you to search the songs by humming. They had recently announced this new Android feature of the platform, which is currently under testing where the users can search for a song by humming or recording the song for three seconds.

This same feature was introduced by Google on Google Assistant in 2020, named ‘Hum to Search’, which takes 15 seconds of audio to get you the results. On the other hand, it is built on the same technology, is much faster and more accessible.

You can look for your song by clicking on the voice search option already available on YouTube on the right-hand side of the ‘search’ bar and ‘hum’ the song or record the song for 3 seconds; then, you’ll access the official content with other results related to the same song.

They had said that songs that will be shown will be content from the artist and user-generated videos and shorts on the song, searched for.

YouTube stated in the report, that,

We’re experimenting with the ability for folks to search for a song on YouTube by humming or recording a song that’s currently being played. If you’re in the experiment, you can toggle from YouTube voice search to the new song search feature, and hum or record the song you’re searching for for 3+ seconds in order for the song to be identified.

Once the song is identified, you’ll be sent to relevant official music content, user-generated videos, and/or Shorts featuring the searched song in the app.

This new intriguing feature is in the testing phase and has only been availed to a few selected users. Also, this feature is only available for Android as of now. You also might have noticed that they are introducing a few updates to improve user experience, for instance, the YouTube Music app mini player had a sight redesign and it is being speculated that the YouTube Music App will get modified for the betterment of the users.

Now, let’s wait together for this interesting initiative by to get implemented for all and see if it actually does what it claims. For further updates or updates related to tech, keep yourself hooked to our Tech Updates. You may also drop your comments down below for any queries or suggestions.
