Amazon Prime Day Scams: How to avoid it?
Amazon Prime Day Deals 2022 is here. Everybody is ready, me, you, Amazon, and some hackers as well. There’s no denying that there are people out there sitting in front of their computer screens, writing codes, and waiting for people to fall into their traps. Sometimes avoiding these cybercriminals can be harder than it sounds. Over time, the tactics, and methods of these cybercriminals have evolved too. So it’s important that we take the right precautions and follow the safety measures described by the cybersecurity experts.

3 ways to avoid scams before Amazon Prime Day Deals 2022:
Precaution is better than cure. Watch out for malicious activities and double-check the ones you suspect to be wicked. Picking out the illicit message or mail among the official ones can be a little tricky at times. So here I am mentioning some basic and easy ways to protect yourself from scammers. These methods will not only help you with keeping yourself safe on this Prime Day sale but on other occasions as well. Let’s see how we can keep our data and money safe from scammers.
1. Check the Domain:
While surfing the Internet, always check the domain of the website. Generally, scammers dupe a website using a similar-sounding domain name. For example, If a scammer wants to make a fake copy of Amazon, he/she would register a domain like Aamazon.com or theAmazon.com, etc. Then they will create a website that looks exactly like Amazon.
It will be next to impossible to find out the fact that you’re on a fake website, especially when you’re in a hurry. You make a payment there and your money will be gone.
So the best defense against these kinds of threats is to check the domain of the website. If there is a spelling difference or any other difference for that matter, then leave the website ASAP.
2. Look for HTTPS:
Always look at whether the website is starting with HTTPS or HTTP. A website that starts with HTTP is the place you should not be wandering. If your Amazon site looks a little different and starts with HTTP, then you should stay away from there. HTTPS is the first wall of safety for you. Never access the sites which start with HTTP.
3. Verify the Emails
Just like the domain, scammers also create fake emails as well. They can send you fake emails regarding the delivery of your product, incomplete payment, or anything else. The fake emails are also hard to notice and people get trapped easily. So if you get an email, then go to your Amazon account to check the same before taking any action. Also, keep in mind that you should never click any links or download any file attached in a mail unless you are 100% sure about the authenticity of its source.
Solutions: Amazon Prime Day Scams
Avoiding suspicious elements is the first line of defense for us. But sometimes, we make mistakes due to urgency and other reasons, and things go west. Then you should always report to the responsible institution for the same. Change your passwords, and drop a mail to the company, telling them in detail what has happened.
