| 1. ISSER Rating – Indian Season Energy Efficiency Ratio (ISEER) has changed in 2022. It is now valid till 30 June 2022. A 5-star 2021 model will now be a 4-star model in 2022. The power consumption on the BEE label is noted under test conditions for 1600 hours. This is not the exact power consumption. The power consumption of AC will vary in real-life scenarios. 2. Inverter AC – Inverter ACs lead to some savings and not humungous savings. The compressors of Inverter Window ACs work on different capacities in order to lower the power consumption. This reduction is up to 30%. There is no drastic reduction in power consumption. 3. Are you confused between inverter or non-inverter window AC? Inverter AC is good for properly sealed rooms with no or less direct sunlight. Otherwise, non-inverter AC is best. For shops & godowns, buy non-inverter ACs. 4. Size of the AC – For 110 sq ft, 1 ton AC is best. 1.5 ton AC is best for 110-185 sq ft room. The exact 1.5-ton capacity is important. For rooms above 185 sq ft, a 2-ton window AC is the best. 5. Noise Levels – Window ACs do make more noise. Noise level up to 62dB is OK in window ACs. Styrofoam insulation is significant. Styrofoam is a good heat and noise insulator but not all window ACs have it. 6.
