Safety Features
Choose heaters equipped with protective grills that cover the heating coils. Automatic thermostats and sensors to shut down the unit in the event it overheats or tips over are also good safety features. Do heaters BURN-IN oxygen?
Radiant and Convection Heaters generally burn the oxygen and also reduce the humidity of the room upon regular usage. Humidity can be retained by keeping a small pot of water in the room, but oxygen burning can only be prevented if the room has ventilation or it has an open window.
Area/Heating Time
Most Radiant and Convection Heaters are Personal heaters and may take around 2 hours or more to heat up the entire room of 150 – 175 sq ft, and once they are off the heat does not stay for long. However, Oil-filled heaters take more than 2 hours to completely heat up the same size room and once heated, the temperature will be maintained for a few hours.
Energy Efficiency
Radiant Heaters are the most energy-efficient but they are only personal heaters and their heat does not stay for long. Convection Heaters and Oil Heaters consume almost more energy than Radiant Heaters but Oil Heaters have more lasting heat in the room.

This ISI marked heater has rust-free stainless steel which is good. If Havells claim of 24hrs home service is true, then it is really good. It costs ₹1900 right now which is its con. It is slightly expensive (more than Bajaj).

Our last pick in Radiant heaters is Maharaja Whiteline Lava with 1200W maximum wattage. It has Carbon rod technology as it comes with the carbon-type element. It has multiple heat settings of 400W, 800W, and 1200W as it has 3 carbon rods. It has a shockproof plastic body along with 180° smooth rotation. Its oscillation while our testing was smooth and amazing. It is ISI marked.

Usha 423 N- best room heaters in India
Let’s discuss the most significant and successful convection heater/blower- Usha Blower with 2000W max wattage. It has multiple heat settings of 665W, 1330W, and 2000W. It comes with overheating protection. It has a twin-turbo feature (low and high fan modes). This is just a fancy name. The most useful features are an easy-to-grab handle and an adjustable stand feature. This successful ISI-marked heater has a 1-year warranty.

Second in our list of convection heaters are 2 options- 1 with 1000W peak power and 2 with 2000W peak power. They both are good and have similar features. They have a plastic body, metal grill, and PTC (positive temperature coefficient) heating element. The bigger model has 2 settings- 1000W and 2000W. Its blower is good. It comes with overheat protection and thermal cut-off. The best thing is their 100% copper motor.

PROS AND CONS-
100% copper motor is rare but it is there is in heaters which cost ₹1300 only. The best thing is the PTC element which translates to no oxygen burn-in. This is the property of PTC. If we nitpick, then the con is its 15Amp socket. These can’t be plugged into small sockets.
Havells Calido PTC- best room heaters in India
Another convection heater we recommend is Havells Calido, with 2000W peak power. It has a plastic body, metal grill, PTC heating element, and two heat settings (1300W and 2000W). It comes with an Oscillation function and overheats protection. It has an adjustable thermostat and a cleanable dust filter (acc to Havells). We think the front mesh is called a filter.

Oil-filled Room heater- best room heaters in India
Kenstar Oil Filled Radiator- best room heaters in India
Our first pick under the oil-filled heater is a Kenstar Oil-filled Radiator heater with 2900W peak power and 11 oil fins with a PTC heater fan (both PTC heater and oil fins are given for fast heating). It has multiple heat settings of 1000 watts, 1500 watts, and 2500 watts. According to Kenstar, the best oil used is HD 320-grade oil. Other brands haven’t disclosed their oil grade. It comes with overheat protection, thermostatic control, and castor wheels. This ISI marked heater has 2 years warranty.
