Looks:

Redmi 43-inch and Redmi 50-inch 4K TVs have plastic backs with different designs. Both the TVs come with plastic stands. Their bezel designs are the same with different colors. Redmi 43 inch has grey bezels whereas Redmi 50 inch and above sizes have the piano black finish in bezels. The bezels are medium bezels.

Connectivity Options:

Both TVs have the same connectivity options. They have 3 HDMI, 2 USB ports, an Optical port, and other essential ports. They support Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band wifi. Both these Redmi TVs have 1 HDMI eARC port through which Dolby Atmos can be directly decoded.

Panel: Best 4K TV in India Under 30000

They have 8 bit FRC VA DLED panel. Xiaomi never claims which panel it ships. But as per our calculations and experience, you get a VA panel. Peak HDR brightness of Redmi 4K TV 43 inch is 350 nits whereas that of Redmi 4K TV 50 inch is 360 nits.

Difference:

  1. The Redmi 4K TV 43-inch supports HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. Redmi 4K TV 50-inch and above sizes support HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision. TVs that come with HDR10+ support are tuned for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Their high dynamic range is wider.
  • We compared both these TV by keeping them on the same picture mode and default settings. As a result, the picture quality of the Redmi 50-inch TV was much better than that of the Redmi TV 43-inch. It is because Redmi 50-inch TV has a completely different panel.
  • The color performance of Redmi 50 inch is better due to the presence of HDR10+. HDR10+ offers a wide spectrum of reds. The details were also visible in shadows.
  • Redmi 50-inch TV’s remote has only 2 hotkeys of Netflix and Amazon Prime whereas the 43-inch has 3 hotkeys of Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hotstar.

OS:

Both Redmi TV 43 inch and Redmi TV 50 inch come with Android 10 out of the box along with Patchwall skin. This is Redmi’s own skin. It has some kind of tiles as Android OS along with suggested content tiles. You get Google Playstore through which you can download many more apps. These TVs have 11 GB of usable storage. They support Chromecast and Miracast.

Video formats: Best 4K TV in India Under 30000

1. We tested the same HDR content on both TVs and noticed vast differences. Colors were more vivid in Redmi’s 50-inch size.

2. These TVs have a Vivid color engine (Redmi’s own color optimization) but it works differently in both the TVs.

Red and green are slightly over-saturated in all Redmi TVs but they look warm so it is good. However, there is no bending. The colors can be differentiated easily. We will rate the grey uniformity 7.5/10.

Video Testings: Redmi Smart TV X43

We played HDR10 content on Amazon Prime and we were satisfied with it. The colors were over saturated but they didn’t look bad. The content is not detailed due to a lack of brightness. TVs on a better budget will show better colors due to their brightness. However, the HDR content was beautifully played. Colors were popping out and they were lively. We checked Dolby Vision content on Netflix.

The content played was not detailed but the colors were good. Red, green and blue have millions of shades but this TV can’t produce all of them due to lesser brightness. Such kind of detailed content is produced by TVs of a much higher range than the Redmi TVs. Their HDR performance is absolutely fine.

Blacks: Redmi Smart TV X43

The blacks are really good in both light and dark backgrounds. There is no issue with blacks. It is the property of a VA panel that produces really good blacks. Blacks of 50-inch Redmi TV are better than that of 43-inch Redmi TVs.

Upscaling and MEMC:

We were happy with the upscaling of their SD content. The upscaling was reasonably good. The upscaling of HD channels is even better. The upscaling of 720p content was good. There was no pixelation. The upscaling of 1080p content was even better. The 4K content was amazingly upscaled.

Redmi 4K TVs come with software-based Reality Flow MEMC running at 60 FPS. When we tested these best 4K TV in India under 30000, the result was just average. Motion blur was better controlled by turning off Reality flow MEMC. We recommend you watch a fast-action movie or sports matches by keeping MEMC off.

Viewing Angles: Best 4K TV in India Under 30000

Their viewing angles are not as good as they are VA panels. You will notice 20%-25% color and brightness loss on the extreme sides. This is not a con as it is a VA panel.

Audio Quality:

They have the same speaker set of 30W down-firing speakers. It supports Dolby audio and dth HD. Dolby Atmos can be directly decoded by attaching a Dolby atmos soundbar to its HDMI 2.1 eARC port. Their audio quality is satisfactory however, a good soundbar is a must for a cinematic experience. Their audio is satisfactory for smaller rooms.

Pros & Cons:

PROS

  • It comes with ALLM that too in this budget. So for gamers, it is a good option in this budget. The response time is 8 to 9 ms.
  • You get all connectivity options which is good. Their HDR performance is good in all ranges. However, in 50-inch and above sizes, it is amazing.
  • Xiaomi’s service network is much better than any other budget brand. Redmi 4K TV is the exact copy of Mi TV 5X minus some features. It is a Xerox copy of Mi TV X.

CONS

  • The Reality Flow is merely a gimmick. The picture quality is much better when you keep it off. Motion blur is better controlled without it.
  • Not many details will be visible. Reds and Greens are slightly over-saturated. But they don’t look bad. They are not problematic. Rather they look punchy and vivid.
